PREFACE Welcome to the 2 nd International Forum on Innovative Technologies for Medicine ITMED 2008 Dear Sir / Madam, we present you with the post-conference materials, containing digitized presentations which were given during the second international conference entitled ITMED 2008 2 nd International Forum on Innovative Technologies for Medicine Bialystok- Bialowieza, 15-17.10.2008. Over 100 people participated in the conference; they represented universities, institutions of scientific research, companies, medical circles and business environment institutions from, the Ukraine, Belarus, Latvia and Ireland. Over 40 presentations and lecture were given during the plenary sessions and workshops and a total of 30 proposals of common projects were drafted many of which stand a good chance of realization. As part of the Brokerage Event, tens of individual meetings took place, during which the participants who were interested in the realization of the detailed projects which had been presented in the project workshops, discussed the terms of potential future cooperation in commercialization of the proposed technological solutions or in assuming common projects. On behalf of the organizers, we would like to thank all who contributed to the undeniable success of the second Forum, particularly the patronage institutions of the conference and the members of the Programme Committee as well as the partners of International Innovation Centre of East
