Przyszłość grafiki to KOEGZYSTENCJA i to we wszystkich obszarach jej funkcjonowania. Mariusza Kazany The exhibition POLISH SCHOOL OF GRAPHIC ART Colour in Graphic Art presents selected works of Michal Pawlowski, Henryk Ozoga and Andrzej Kalina, whose graphics were presented at The International Triennale of Graphic Art in Torun. The Triennale Colour in Graphic Art is an art event with a few years tradition. The first exhibitions, which took place in the 1980s, were focused on the function of colour in graphic art. Recently, the primary concern of those exhibitions is answering the question of why do artists even use colour. Last year s edition, entitled Identity versus tradition, was centred on the recognition of tradition and construction of identity. As an atelier, the Triennale was revolved around the artists attitude to the rich tradition of graphic art. According to the authors and organizers of the Triennale of Graphic Art in Torun, Anna Jackowska, Director of Wozownia Gallery in Torun, and Miroslaw Pawlowski, custodian of the exhibition: It is true that new techniques replace the old ones, and it is natural. The pace of these changes is hardly controllable! Holograms or three-dimensional prints have become our reality and our future. Could this situation cause the disappearence of classic techniques such as wood engraving, metal techniques, lithography or relatively new serigraphy? Not necessarily. COEXISTENCE is the future of graphic art in all the fields that it functions in. Without the division into traditional and digital graphics. The idea, which is at the origin of every artistic creation, is the crucial thing, since each artist s goal always remains the same- to leave his or her own mark on the artistic world.
