4 Note de bienvenue Welcome note Depuis 2014, l Atelier Takmil, "Finition" en arabe, permet à des cinéastes africains et arabes de présenter leurs films, en phase de post production, à un jury international composé de professionnels de l industrie du cinéma. Takmil est organisé dans le cadre de CARTHAGE PRO qui accompagne des cinéastes africains et arabes de la phase de développement jusqu à celle de la finition en vue de les retrouver en Compétition Officielle. En témoigne la sélection de la copie de travail de Haifa Street, de Mohanad Hayal, qui a participé en 2017 à Chabaka/producer s network. Par ailleurs, You Come From Far Away de Amal Ramsis(Takmil 2016), Laaziza de Mohcine Besri(Takmil 2017) et La Clémence de la Jungle de Joel Karekezi, lauréat de la bourse OIF à Takmil 2017, nous reviennent cette année en sélection Officielle. Pour cette 5ème édition nous avons reçu environ 60 copies de travail provenant de 14 pays africains et arabes. Nous en avons sélectionné 11 venant d Algérie, d Egypte, d Iraq, du Liban, du Rwanda, de Syrie et de Tunisie. Du 5 au 7 novembre, après visionnage des copies de travail sélectionnées, chaque réalisateur(ice) accompagné(e) par son/sa producteur(ice) défendra son film lors d une discussion avec les membres du jury. Le 7 novembre au soir, le jury attribuera des bourses d aide à la finition aux films les plus prometteurs. Nous sommes ravis d annoncer trois nouveaux prix : une bourse en numéraire offerte par l Organisation Internationale de la Migration (OIM), des travaux de post production par LaserFilm et une bourse de post production, ventes ou marketing par EYE ON FILMS. Ces bourses s ajoutent à celles accordées par l Organisation Internationale de la Francophonie (OIF), l International Media Support (IMS), le Centre National du Cinéma et de I Image (CNCI) et HAKKA Distribution. 60 Bonne chance à nos cinéastes et vive le cinéma! 5 Note de bienvenue Welcome note Since 2014, Takmil ( Finishing, in Arabic) Workshop has enabled African and Arab film-makers to show their films in the phase of post-production to an international jury made up of cinema industry professionals. Takmil is organised within the framework of CARTHAGE PRO, which accompanies African and Arab film-makers from the development phase to the finishing phase looking forward to have them in the Official Competition. The 7 November evening, the jury will award grants for post-production to the most promising films. 61 We are delighted to announce three new prizes: a cash grant offered by the International Migration Organisation (IMO), post-production work by LaserFilm, and a post production, sales or marketing grant by Eye On Films. These grants join those already offered by Organisation Internationale de la Francophonie (OIF), International Media Support (IMS), Centre National du Cinéma et de I Image (CNCI) and HAKKA Distribution. " و وا ى" ا " ا ا. أ و ا " 2012 و ج" اد ان و " ش ا ". ا ارة" " ا ا إ ا ا Dina Farouk a étudié le montage à L Institut Supérieur du Cinéma du Caire et a travaillé avec des réalisateurs égyptiens comme Samir Seif (Souk El Motaa, 1999, Ma ali Al Wazir, 2002). Elle a monté plusieurs des meilleurs drames romantiques égyptiens y compris Hob El Banat de Khaled El Hagar,trois films de Mohamed Khan (Banat West ElBalad, Fi Shaket Masr El Gedeeda et Before the Summer Crowds) et trois autres de Kamla Abouzekri (Sana Oula Nasb, A an El Eshq Wel Hawa, and Malik W Ketaba). En 2007, elle a créé Wika for Film Production and Distribution. En 2012, Wika a produit le premier long métrage Harag W Marag de Nadine Khan, Kiss me Not de Ahmed Amer, présenté au DIFF en 2017 et Moga Harra et des séries TV de Mohamed Yassin. 65 Film editor Dina Farouk studied Video and Film Editing at the Higher Institute of Cinema and worked with Egyptian film-makers such as Samir Seif (Souk Al Motaa, 1999, Ma ali Al Wazir 2002). She also edited some of the best Egyptian romantic dramas, including Hob El Banat by Khaled El Hagar, three films by Mohamed Khan (Banat West El Balad, Fi Shaket Masr El Gedeeda and Before the Summer Crowds) and three by Kamla Abouzekri (Sana Oula Nasb, A an El Eshq Wel Hawa, and Malik W Ketaba). Michael Hack est organisateur de festival et programmateur. Il est Directeur Général de la Semaine de la Critique du festival International de Berlin jusqu'en 2018, pour laquelle il continue de travailler en tant que consultant en programmation et stratégie. Il était auparavant directeur artistique du LICHTER Filmfest Frankfurt. Il écrit sur le cinéma, la littérature et la politique et a contribué à des publications telles que Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung et Der Tagesspiegel. En plus de son travail dans l'industrie cinématographique, il est conseiller politique pour les relations entre l'europe, le Moyen-Orient et l'afrique et traducteur. Il a étudié le cinéma et la littérature comparée à Francfort et à Paris. Michael Hack, festival organizer and programmer. Managing Director (until 2018) as well as programmer and strategic consultant of Berlin Critics' Week. Before that he was artistic director of the Lichter Filmfest, Frankfurt. He writes on film, literature and politics, and has contributed to publications like Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung and Der Tagesspiegel. Besides his work in the film industry he is a political advisor on the relations between Europe and the Middle East and Africa and a translator. He studied Film and Comparative Literature in Frankfurt and Paris. 66

Après avoir passé un an au sein de TF1 Films Productions, il rejoint TPD Cinéma aux préachats de longs métrages. Il intègre en Juin 2002 la Société Mandarin Film. Il y occupe le poste de directeur Administratif et Financier durant 4 ans avant de s associer à Screen Runner et Jade Productions. En 2014, Nadim crée sa société de production Tanit Films. Il a produit et coproduit plusieurs fictions et documentaires : Benda Bilili de Renaud Barret et Florent de la Tullaye, Hedi de Mohamed Ben Attia (Berlin 2016 Meilleur premier film- Meilleur Acteur), La belle et la meute de Kaouther Ben Henia (Un certain regard-cannes 2017), ainsi que Amin de Phillippe Faucon et Weldi de Mohamed Ben Attia qui ont été présentés à la quinzaine des réalisateurs à Cannes en Producer Nadim Cheikhrouha graduated from the Paris HEC in He worked for various companies before becoming producer at Screen Runner, Jade Productions and (since 2014) Tanit Films. La Lucarne-ARTE 2017 Rasha Salti est une cinéaste indépendante, critique en arts visuels et scénariste. Elle vit à Beyrouth et travaille entre New York, Paris et Toronto. Elle a coorganisé plusieurs programmations de films tels que The Road To Damascus, une rétrospective du cinéma syrien (avec Richard Pena en 2006) qui a circulé dans le monde entier, ainsi que Mapping Subjectivity : une expérimentation du cinéma arabe des années soixante jusqu à présent (avec Jytte Jansen, ) présentée au Moma à New York. Elle a collaboré avec plusieurs organismes et festivals y compris le Jeu de Paume, Paris, SANFIC, Santiago, et Vate Modern, Londres. Elle a été membre du jury 2015 du Celeste Prize. Depuis 2017, elle est à la tête de la Lucarne-ARTE, France. Rasha Salti is an independent filmmaker, visual arts critic and scriptwriter. She lives in Beirut and works between New York, Paris and Toronto. She co-organized several film programs such as The Road To Damascus, a retrospective of Syrian cinema (with Richard Pena in 2006) that circulated around the world, as well as Mapping Subjectivity: experimentation in Arab Cinema from the 1960's until now (with Jytte Jansen, ) presented at Moma in New York. Selina Ukwuoma est consultante scénario. Elle a été conseillère sur plusieurs projets (Boy A, lauréat du BAFTA 2008, The Way He Looks lauréat du Teddy Award, ainsi que Summer 1993, gagnant du prix du meilleur premier long métrage, GWFF Berlinale 2017). Elle est consultante pour des sociétés de productions et participe au développement d initiatives au sein de plusieurs organisations. Sa filmographie est variée. En 2006, il réalise un court-métrage : Les baisers d Alger. Il co-réalise Afric Hotel en 2010, documentaire présenté à Visions du réel. Son troisième court métrage Tarzan, Don Quichotte et nous est sélectionné en 2013 à Visions du Réel et au FID Marseille. Parallèlement, il travaille comme assistant réalisateur auprès de Lyes Salem, Malek Bensmail, Karim Moussaoui et d autres. Après 62 ans de vie commune, mes grands-parents, sont aujourd hui séparés. Tous deux nés en Algérie, arrivés en France dans les années 1950, ils vivent depuis plus de soixante ans à Thiers, en Auvergne. C est une histoire d exil, de liens qui se défont, de souffrance et de fierté qui a profondément marqué mes grands-parents et toute une génération d Algériens immigrés en France. After 62 years together, my grandparents separated. Both were born in Algeria and arrived in France in the 1950s; both have lived for sixty years in Thiers in the Auvergne. Je filmerai la distance qui se creuse entre les personnages, entre les territoires. Nous passerons d Aïcha à Mabrouk, du monde des femmes à celui des hommes, des images du présent à celles du passé, de l'auvergne à l'algérie, dans un mouvement continu de va-et-vient. The film transports us into worlds that never meet. I shall film the distance that separates people, territories. We shall move from Aicha to Mabrouk, from the world of women to that of men, from images of the present to those of the past, from the Auvergne to Algeria, in a constant oscillation.

Lina SOUALEM ا ا DIRECTOR ا Lina Soualem réalisatrice et comédienne franco-algéro-palestinienne, diplômée de l Université de la Sorbonne à Paris, est spécialisée dans l étude des sociétés arabes contemporaines. Dans mon film, j explore ces minutes intenses aux relents de mort. My film Haifa Street is an attempt to contextualize and understand those ten minutes, in which I escaped from deadly sniper bullets. Nine years later, questions still haunt me: Who was the deceased? Why was he killed? And many more. But like all Iraqis, I have no answers. With my film, I want to expound on those intense minutes that reeked of death.

Il est fondateur et directeur général de la société de production Polimovie International Pictures qui compte à son actif quatre long-métrages de fiction (Thala Mon Amour de Mehdi Hmili, Tunis By Night de Elyes Baccar ), trois documentaires et huit courts métrages. Il est membre du Producers Network, de l EAVE et du torinofilmlab. Mohamed Ali Ben Hamra, born in Sousse in 1986, graduated in Cinema Engineering and Means of Communication from the Turin Polytechnique.
