By offering our financial support we provide these young men with the critical education and training they need to shepherd our parishes and administer the sacraments. Last year, more than $978,000 was collected and I am thankful for your past and present support. Pope Francis reminds us that, The Church and the world need mature and balanced priests, intrepid and generous Pastors, capable of closeness, of listening and mercy. There are currently 54 seminarians preparing for a life of service as your future parish priests. Our seminarians motivation and enthusiasm in their pursuit to answer God s call is inspiring. They are the future guides for the spiritual and intellectual formation of our Catholic communities and are well deserving of our prayers and financial support. Contributions made to this collection alleviate monthly expenses such as tuition and fees ($1,672), room and board ($638), and health insurance ($171) for each seminarian and will be used solely for the formation of new priests for the Archdiocese of Chicago. You may utilize the remittance envelopes provided to your parish or should you find it more convenient, feel free to contribute online through our website at www.archchicago.org/ seminarianfund. For your generous support in the past and for your consideration of support again this year, I thank you. May God continue to bless you abundantly. Please know that I keep you in my daily prayers and intentions, and I ask for yours in return. Sincerely yours in Christ, Cardinal Blase J. Cupich Archbishop of Chicago REMINDER: THE FIRST BIBLE CLASS FOR ADULTS STARTS AT ST. WALTER CHURCH ( 11772 S. Oakley, Chicago, Il.) From the Pastor s Desk Dear Parishioners! Throughout September, we are collecting cases of water, which at the beginning of October we will deliver it to Houston, Texas. Remember that water is a symbol of life! We are hoping that each parish family will be able to give at least one large case of water. Please drop it off at the parish office (in the administration building). Our love of neighbor is expressed in a specific action. Thank you very much for your last Sunday monetary donations for the victims of the hurricane in Texas (we collected $7,430.00). On Monday, the first day of our water collection we received over 100 cases of water. You are exceptional and very, very "generous". I am glad that the water collection was met with great and benevolent acceptance on your part! I embrace with warm prayer anyone that owns a trucking company and would be willing to lend us a truck to deliver the water to Houston. Today from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm we are celebrating the Second Parish Harvest Day Festival. We have great music, Elvis Presley impersonator concert at 12:00 pm, then DJ Maxi-Joe, Christian music, tasty food, beer, wine, games and fun for children, face painting, etc. All proceeds from this event will benefit the parish. Let us spend this time together because it is really worth it! Last week we had cleaned the ventilation system in the nun s convent, painted the floor in the boiler room, and cleaned all the storage rooms in the parish buildings. I thank Mr. Raymond Chodorowski for donating a crown for the Infant of Prague and the Knights of Columbus for a donation for the parish needs. What you do for our parish reminds me every day how much you care about the well-being and beauty of our parish community. "God bless you" for all your goodness!!! My Dearly Beloved! In the near future, we will mount special lights at the altars of the Holy Family and the Sacred Heart of Jesus. Also, some tuck pointing work will need to be done on the church building, and concrete slabs sealed above the both Cry Rooms. In the distant future (after the New Year) we will work on upgrading the fire alarm system in the Church, will replace the old, destroyed carpet with new ceramic tiles throughout the Church, and hang in the sanctuary a relief sculptures of Our Lady of Sorrows and the St. John the Apostle on each side of Jesus on the cross. My dream is to have LED lighting and a canopy roof installed over the front church door, build an Our Lady of Fatima grotto with the altar, where during summer months we would celebrate the Holy Mass, build garages in a different area of the church property, and put new asphalt on the second parking lot behind the Catholic school. I promise that I will win in the "Lotto", then we will build a new gym with a beautiful Auditorium. The nature of our dreams is that they tend to become reality. I believe that we can carry out everything step by step. So, let us pray to God through the intercession of our patron St. Albert the Great for the fulfillment of our plans, dreams, and hopes. I wish all parishioners and those who come to pray in our church a peaceful and a blessed week! Jesus, I trust in You! Fr. Moi Kochani! Z biurka Ks. Proboszcza Wciąż w miesiącu wrześniu zbieramy paczki wody, którą poźniej na początku miesiąca października zawieziemy do Houston w Texas. Pamiętajmy, że woda jest symbolem życia! Bardzo proszę, aby każda rodzina naszej parafii zakupiła choć jedną dużą paczkę wody. Tę wodę proszę przynosić do budynku administracyjnego (kancelarii). Wszystkich darczyńców i chętnych do przewiezienia wody do Houston ogarniam serdeczną modlitwą. Także dziś przy naszym kościele od godz. 10:00 rano do godz. 6:00 popołudniu celebrujemy Drugi Harvest Day-Dożynki-Pożegnanie Lata. W programie: świetna muzyka, o godz. 12:00 w południe występ Polskiego Elvisa, DJ Maksi-Joe, muzyka chrześcijańska, smaczne i urozmaicone jedzenie, piwo, wino, gry i zabawy dla dzieci, malowanie twarzy itp. Wszystkim naszym parafianom i modlącym sie w naszym kościele życzę spokojnego i błogosławionego tygodnia! Jezu, ufam Tobie! Fr. Mariuszem. Ofiarowane jedzenie prosimy składać do drewnianej skrzynki w przedsionku kościoła. Bóg zapłać.

The son blamed the father. They did not speak to each other again. Then the father became seriously ill. The mother called the son and told him he had better come soon. The son walked sheepishly into the hospital room. The father motioned his son to him and whispered: Did you ever think you could do anything that would keep me from loving you? Resentment and anger are foul things, the first reading from Sirach tells us. Remember the last things. Stop hating. Live by the commandments. As Saint Paul writes to the Romans, we are to live for the Lord and die for the Lord. Jesus parable in today s Gospel reminds us of God s compassion. The immense sin of humanity has been forgiven and stricken from the record. We are to forgive others in the same way. Copyright J. S. Paluch Co., Inc. FORGIVE OTHERS There are many kinds of alms the giving of which helps us to obtain pardon for our sins; but none is greater than that by which we forgive from our heart a sin that someone has committed against us.
