St. Albert the Great, Pray For Us. GOD S HEALING JUSTICE An old expression holds that the sun-warmed stone heals. Perhaps. But Malachi explains that only dark, sunless days are in store for those who do not find a place for God in their lives. Conversely, he tells us that the warmth and light of God s healing justice await those who fear the Lord. That s a pretty comforting notion especially now in the already short and growing even shorter days of November. It s the sunwarmed stone, and then some. Paul speaks to us of justice as well, but points out that it is not a passive thing. To be treated justly, we need to do our fair share. If we are diligent and persevere we will be rewarded with and by the fruits of our labor. Lastly, Luke, too, tells us to persevere in faith, this time and our lives will be secure in God regardless of how we are treated by our enemies. Copyright J. S. Paluch Co. ST. VINCENT DE PAUL SOCIETY FOOD DRIVE Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays are quickly approaching. The St. Vincent De Paul Society will be conducting its annual FOOD DRIVE to help families in our church and surrounding community in need. You can help us help them. Please consider donating any non-perishable food items with current best used by date in our wooden bin at the main entrance of the church vestibule or monetary contribution in the Poor Box, also located there. Giving is not always easy, but can be rewarding. The Lord sees what we do to help others. Next Sunday Second Collection November 20, 2016 we will take up a Second Collection for the Catholic Campaign for Human Development. Your donations are greatly appreciated. From the Pastor s Desk Dear Friends! Time goes by so quickly My dear friends, right now we are enjoying a beautiful November weather, and autumn reminds us that everything in this world must pass. Our lives change just like the four seasons and like a flower seeds - when planted; sprout, bloom and then wither. The image of an altar candle also symbolizes the earthly life; a candle reduces with each moment as it burns and eventually goes out. So, let us live our Christian lives for the glory of God and the benefit of our brothers and sisters in Christ. Today, I am not here with you in person, but I assure you that I am with you spiritually, embracing each one of you with my priestly blessings and prayers. During entire month of November, we continue prayers for our deceased loved ones. We remember their names, their faces and presence during their time here on earth. Please, pray to God to bestow the grace of eternal life on their immortal souls. Eternal rest grant unto them o lord and let perpetual light shine upon them, may they rest in peace. Amen. Once again, I would like to thank all of you for your wonderful example of faith, hope, love, trust, and joy. Thank you very much for a continuous evidence of your kindness and goodness. Thank you for many warm words for our priests and for the material support for the upkeep of the church and the parish buildings. You are the best in the world. St. Albert the Great Parish - Our Beginning... Breaking of the ground for the first church Construction of the first church First Mass, December 24th, 1949 DID YOU KNOW? This past October 17,683 faithful attended Sunday Masses here at St. Albert s. Last year (in our parish) we celebrated 34 weddings, baptized 145 babies, held 111 funeral Masses, 181 Children received 1st Communion Sacrament, and 133 young men and women received the Sacrament of Confirmation. Moi Drodzy, przeżywamy piękny jesienny listopadowy czas, który uświadamia nam, że wszystko co jest na świecie przemija, że przemija także nasze ludzkie życie jak cztery pory roku. Nasze ludzkie życie jest podobne do kwiatu, który zasadzony w ziemię rośnie, kwitnie i usycha. Nasze życie jest jak ołtarzowa świeca, która z każdą chwilą się skraca i wypala by w konsekwencji zgasnąć. Niech nasze chrześcijańskie życie będzie życiem na chwałę Pana Boga i pożytek naszych bliźnich. Choć dziś nie jestem z wami fizycznie to zapewniam was, że jestem z wami duchowo. Każdego z was ogarniam serdeczną i gorliwą modlitwą. Każdego z was pozdrawiam, życzliwie ściskam i błogosławię! W dalszym ciągu kontynuujemy naszą listopadową modlitwę za naszymi krewnymi zmarłymi. Wciąż wspominamy ich imiona, przypominamy sobie ich ziemskie życie i prosimy Boga, aby ich nieśmiertelne dusze obdarzył łaską życia wiecznego: Wieczne odpoczywanie racz duszom zmarłym dać Panie, a światłość wiekuista niechaj im świeci, na wieki wieków. Amen. Raz jeszcze pragnę wam podziękować za wspaniały przykład wiary, nadziei, miłości, ufności i radości. Dziękuję wam za wiele dowodów życzliwości i dobroci, dziękuję za wiele ciepłych słów wsparcia dla naszych kapłanów, dziękuję za waszą troskę duchową (modlitwa) i materialną (ofiary na tacę) o nasz kościół i budynki parafialne. Jestem z was szczerze dumny i wszystkim wokół powtarzam, że jesteście najlepsi na świecie. Życzę wam wielu łask Bożych w nadchodzącym tygodniu oraz wiele życzliwości i miłości od bliźnich Szczęść Boże! Jezu, ufam Tobie! Ks. Mariusz. Zapraszamy wszystkich parafian i gości na Zabawę Andrzejkową 19 listopada (sobota) do sali pod kościołem. Zabawa jest organizowana przez rodziców ministrantów a zarobione fundusze posłużą na cele naszych dziewcząt i chłopców służących przy ołtarzu. Bilety w cenie $15.00 od osoby można nabywać w przejściu kościoła u rodziców naszych ministrantów. W listopadzie (poniedziałek, środa i piątek) o godz. 6:30 po południu będziemy się modlić za zmarłych i o godz. 7:00 wieczorem za dusze wypominane w naszym kościele będziemy odprawiać Mszę Świętą. Wciąż możemy ze sobą zabrać do domu specjalne kopertki wypominkowe na których prosimy wypisać imiona i nazwiska swoich bliskich zmarłych. Przed ołtarzem jest umieszczony specjalny koszyk do którego możemy składać kopertki wypominkowe wraz z ofiarą. Możemy też te kopertki przynieść do zakrystii, kancelarii parafialnej lub dać jednemu z księży lub siostrze zakonnej. Page 5
Perpetual Blue Candles are located in front of the Holy Family, on the left side of the main altar. If you are interested in burning a candle with an inscription of your loved one s name for a period of one year - please contact the parish office. The donation for one year is $250.00. TREE OF LIFE is located in the back of the church at our Lady of Czestochowa Shrine. You can establish a beautiful memorial to a loved one by inscribing a leaf with his or her name. The donation for a leaf is $350.00. Donation for a larger memorial leaf is $1,000.00. The money collected is used for the maintenance of the church property.
