Our Parish School: We are part of an excellent co-sponsored elementary school: All Saints Academy. For information call: Religious Education For Children: CCD classes are held every Sunday from September through April at 9:15 am. Classes are conducted in our school building. Confessions: Daily Monday to Saturday following the 7:00 am Mass. Saturday afternoons at 4:00 pm. Sacrament Of The Sick: Sick Calls or other Emergency Calls should be made to the rectory at any time. Arrangements can also be made for regular visitations at home or hospital for Holy Communion and/or Confession. We urge you to keep us aware of parishioners who are ill in the hospital or at home. Marriages: Please make arrangements at least one year in advance. Couples are urged to solemnize their vows at a Nuptial Mass. Baptisms: The Sacrament of Baptism is celebrated each month on the First Sunday (in English) and on the Third Sunday (in Polish). A required Baptismal Program for Parents is conducted at 1:00 pm on the second Sunday of the month in Polish and on the last Sunday in English. Novenas: Every Thursday Evening to Divine Mercy following the 7:00 pm Mass. The Knights of Columbus will be outside the entrances of our Church this weekend conducting their annual Rose Collection to support their work with the Right to Life. Please be Generous! Month of Remembrance. In our Catholic tradition, we remember in a special way all of our deceased relatives and friends during November. Here at Mt. Carmel, we have Special Masses next Sunday November 2. To enroll your loved ones, please use the envelopes included in your envelope packets. (Extra envelopes are found at the entrances of the church.) The envelopes may be placed in any collection or mailed to the rectory before November 1. All Souls Candles will be available this weekend at the church entrances. TREASURES FROM OUR TRADITION Saturday s Solemnity of All Saints and Sunday s Commemoration of All the Faithful Departed (All Souls) fit well at the beginning of November. The liturgical readings of this final month in the Church year are keyed to the end of time and the fulfillment of Jesus saving acts. Nowhere is this more fully celebrated than in Mexico, where November 2 is the Day of the Dead. Missionaries moved an ancient Aztec festival from midsummer to November, linking the festival to Christian themes. Today, it is a time for remembering the dead and celebrating the continuity of life, principally by festive picnics in cemeteries. There are special foods and games, and people socialize with other families and tell favorite stories about their dear ones. The sweetness of life is honored by sugary desserts and treats. Flowers, music, lights, and feasting assure that the day is not at all morbid. Traditionally, the day begins with Mass, a procession to the cemetery, and a morning feast. Most families have a special dinner with the pan de muerto, or bread of the dead. A toy skeleton is baked into the loaf, and the one who bites into it is considered lucky indeed. The dead are not feared, but deeply loved, and this joyful family feast points both to age-old customs and Resurrection faith. INCLUSIVE LOVE Love of our neighbor is included in the love of God. 4 As Winter approaches, we at OLMC will again try to help alleviate some of the suffering of our homeless and neighborhood poor. Using the wood collection box by Blessed Mother, you may leave food cards (McDonald s, Subway, Dunkin Donuts, Shop Rite) or cash to be distributed to our the needy. God Will Reward You! Attention Families of 8th Grade students wanting to attend Catholic High Schools in Fall 2015! Marian Images Trivia Have you found all 25 images of our Blessed Mother within the main body of our church? The most hidden ones are part of the image of St. Maximillian Kolbe. The next World Youth Day will be in Krakow, Poland 2016 If you are a young person interested in joining our Youth Group in attending WYD, please stop by a Youth Group meeting: Thursday evenings at 6:30 pm Parish Center, Youth Room (You must be 15 by August 2016 to attend.) A reservation fee of $ is required. The Youth Group will be sponsoring several fund raisers to offset the WYD expense. Attention All!! Our Youth will be selling Mt. Carmel Christmas Cards starting Nov. 9. Next month we honor and pray for our deceased relatives and friends. One of the ways we, as Catholics, have honored our dead is by Memorial Items. Our church is an historical testimony to the love of individuals and families who have honored their loved ones. Over the years, people have dedicated Windows, Tabernacles, Statues, Vestments, Chalices, Censors, Holy Water Fonts, Memorial Candle stands, and other Liturgical items for the edification of all who worship here. Make a tour of our church. Observe the beautiful statues, paintings and liturgical items. Read the dedications. Say a prayer for those whose families gifted Mt. Carmel with such treasures. 5 POMOC DLA BEZDOM- NYCH I UBOGICH Jak co roku, gdy zbliża się zima, nasza parafia pragnie pamiętać o ludziach bezdomnych i ubogich z naszej okolicy. Do drewnianej skarbonki przy bocznym ołtarzu Matki Bożej, można wrzucać kartki żywnosciowe Mc Donald s, Subway, Dunkin Donuts, Shop Rite, lub pieniądze. Wszelkie datki będą przekazane potrzebującym. Dziękujemy wszystkim ofiarodawcom staropolskim Bóg Zapłać!!! - Panie nie jestem godzien, te słowa dotyczą każdego z nas. Jednakże Jezus powołuje grzeszników, aby Mu służyć poprzez pomoc w parafii jako nadzwyczajni szafarze Eucharystii, lektorzy, kolekterzy składki, katecheci. Archidiecezjalny kurs szafarzy Sobota, 22 listopada, : 45 AM - 12: 30 PM Formularz wcześniejszej rezerwacji świec na Dzień Zaduszny. Można dostarczyć do biura parafialnego lub złożyć do koszyka podczas zbierania kolekty. Imię i nazwisko: Numer telefonu : 1 listopada - Uroczystość Wszystkich Świętych Dzisiejsza uroczystość ma charakter bardzo radosny. Wspominamy bowiem dzisiaj wszystkich tych, którzy żyli przed nami i wypełniając w swoim życiu Bożą wolę, osiągnęli wieczne szczęście przebywania z Bogiem w niebie. Kościół wspomina nie tylko oficjalnie uznanych świętych, czyli tych beatyfikowanych i kanonizowanych, ale także wszystkich wiernych zmarłych, którzy już osiągnęli zbawienie i przebywają w niebie. Widzi w nich swoich orędowników u Boga i przykłady do naśladowania. 1 listopada zapraszamy na Eucharystię w języku polskim o godzinie 8:00 AM, oraz w języku angielskim o 7:00 AM, ZMIANA CZASU!!! W następny weekend, w nocy z soboty na niedzielę przechodzimy z czasu letniego na zimowy (przestawiamy zegarki o godzinę do tyłu). W sobotę, 15 listopada, w godzinach od 9:00 AM do 3:00 PM, w centrum parafialnym będzie miał miejsce Pchli Targ. Będą również sprzedawcy rzemiosła artystycznego oraz stoiska z jedzeniem. Zapraszamy do odwiedzenia nas oraz do zakupów. Jeśli ktoś chciałby zarezerwować stolik ($20), proszony jest o kontakt z kancelarią parafialną. Jeśli ktoś z Państwa ma niepotrzebne ubrania których już nie używa, to może warto ofiarować ją biednym? Na parkingu, między szkołą a konwentem sióstr stoi kontener z Catholic Community Services, do którego można wrzucać czyste ubrania, buty oraz nieużywane, małe sprzęty gospodarstwa domowego.
