Without this active memory, the bonds of relationship and affection fray and fall apart. Communities dissolve as surely as neglected buildings do. After participating in events, celebrations and even small rituals, we remark about how good it is to gather and remember. Today s readings remind us of foundations laid deeper than the human will to relate. Today we hear about God s will to relate to us to be our God as we are called to be God s own beloved people. Today in three readings and three ways we remember the covenant bonds that create us as a people and the obligation and responsibility that express the innermost attitude of soul. You are mine. I am yours. These are God s words that created a people as surely as Let there be light created the sun and moon and all the stars. This week s second collection is the additional final collection for this fiscal year to supplement our delinquent parish obligations to the Diocese. Our fiscal year ends on August 31st. We appreciate your extra sacrificial offering. Our fiscal year 2016 begins on September 1. Therefore, the second collection next weekend will be for the regular monthly parish obligations to the Diocese of Worcester. NOVENA TO THE DIVINE MERCY Mark your calendar - On Sunday, September 6th at 3:00pm, we set aside an hour for special devotions to the Divine Mercy. We ask parishioners and friends to please make every effort to join us in the singing of the Chaplet followed by Benediction.

3 Page 3 ST. JOSEPH SCHOOL SCHEDULE This week on Wednesday, September 2nd the doors of St. Joseph School will be wide open to welcome our students. Official opening of the Academic Year will be on First Friday, Sept. 4th with Mass at 8:30am at our Basilica. It has been an annual tradition to celebrate the opening of the school year with a family atmosphere and therefore, we will hold a picnic on the school grounds at 11:15am (free of charge, courtesy of Msgr. Czarnecki). Dates to Remember: Wednesday, Sept. 2- first day for Grades 1-8 Parent orientation on Wednesday at 6pm, for K & Pre-K (5,3,2) Thursday, Sept. 3- first day for Kindergarten Parent orientation on Thursday at 6pm for gr. 1-8 NOVENA AND DEVOTION TO ST. JOSEPH Please join us on Wednesday evening, Sept. 2nd at 7:00pm for our continuing Novena and Devotion to our Patron. Trust played a vital role in the life of St. Joseph. He lived with faith knowing that his desires would be fulfilled. Like our Patron we can proceed with the quiet confidence that St. Joseph exhibited so well throughout his life. Members of the St. Joseph Polish Women s Club will carry our Patron s statue into the sanctuary. As always you are encouraged to write your intentions legibly on paper available in the Chapel. FIRST FRIDAY ADORATION On Friday, Sept. 4th, adoration of the Blessed Sacrament will begin after the 7:00am Mass and conclude at 3:00pm with the Chaplet to the Divine Mercy followed by Benediction. Adorers are asked to come at their scheduled time. Please note: All members of the Sacred Heart Society and parishioners are invited to join us at the 7:00am Mass which is designated for our living members. The Mass at 7:00pm will be in the Polish language. NATIONAL DAY OF ST. JOHN PAUL II Time to make travel plans - to Washington, DC as Polonia celebrates National Day of St. John Paul II on Saturday, October 17th at his National Shrine. This date was determined by the Knights of Columbus, Supreme Knight, Carl Anderson and the National Polish Apostolate Committee and their Chairman, Msgr. Czarnecki. Please join people from every state who will pay tribute to this unique Pope who was a gift to the Church and humanity. The JPII Foundation of New England is sponsoring a 3-day bus trip to Washington, DC from Oct., The itinerary is available at the entrances of the Basilica. The cost is $330pp. Since only one bus is available space is limited. Deposit of 50% due with registration full payment by Sept. 15th. Registration and sponsorship forms available at entrances of our Basilica. Our sports programs serve our amazing competing students from Kindergarten through 8th grade. ST. JOSEPH POLISH WOMEN S CLUB Executive Board Meeting-will be held on Tues. Sept. 1 at 6:30pm at the home of Zofia Walker, Thompson Rd., Webster. Membership Drive ongoing. The SJPWC will once again host "A Splash of Panache" Vendor Event on November 8, 2015 at the P.A.C.C., 37 Harris Street, Webster, MA. Tickets to the annual event, which are $15 in advance and $20 at the door will include hot and cold Hors d'oeuvres and a gift bag. Chairpersons for tickets are Phyllis Scully, Barbara Kryger and Patty Williams and tickets are now available. In charge of Vendors are Sheri Bergeron, Jackie Skrocki and Jill Manak. Vendors from last year are currently being contacted, as space will be limited. The Lottery Raffle tickets are now available. As in the past, Raffle tickets are $10 and will be sold at Masses and at club meetings. Prizes are books of $5, $2, and $1 MA Scratch Tickets. Special Gifts Raffle - donations from club members as well as local businesses are now being accepted. St. Vincent de Paul Message - On Sept. 9, the Church celebrates the Feast of Blessed Frederic Ozanam, the founder of the Society of St. Vincent de Paul. Frederic heard the call of Jesus to love and serve those who are suffering. And in the poor he found the face of Christ. In Sept., through your gifts, we will be able to carry the mission of Blessed Frederic by assisting families by providing donations for food, utilities, rent and miscellaneous bills. (Jk 1, 21b) Bóg daje Prawo po to, by uformować lud mądry i rozumny, bliski i wierny Bogu, poprzez wprowadzanie otrzymanej z góry mądrości w czyn. Jezus pokazuje faryzeuszom, że w Prawie nie chodzi o legalizm ludzkich tradycji, podkreślających czystość formalną i zewnętrzne zwyczaje, ale o formowanie wnętrza, z którego obfitości wypływa dobro lub zło, uświęcenie lub nieczystość człowieka. Bogu chodzi o religijność czystą i bez skazy, życzliwie i ze współczuciem pochyloną nad potrzebami innych. Dzisiejsza druga kolekta jest dodatkową kolektą dla wsparcia budżetu parafialnego w celu zmniejszenia należności wobec diecezji przed końcem roku fiskalnego, który przypada na 31 sierpnia. Z góry dziękujemy za dodatkowe ofiary. Rok fiskalny rozpoczyna się wraz z pierwszym tygodniem września, dlatego też druga kolekta w przyszłym tygodniu będzie przeznaczona na Zobowiązania WIADOMOŚCI SZKOLNE Już w najbliższą środę otwieramy drzwi naszej szkoły, aby powitać uczniów w nowym roku szkolnym. Zachęcamy szczególnie do prywatnego nawiedzania świątyni i osobistego spotkania w Jezusem Eucharystycznym. Zakończenie adoracji o godz. 15:00 Msza św. o godz. 7:00 będzie odprawiona w intencji żywych członków Sacred Hear Society. Msza św. po polsku o godz. 19:00, a pół godziny przed nią spowiedź. KORONKA DO MIŁOSIERDZIA BOŻEGO W najbliższą niedzielę przypada pierwsza niedziela miesiąca września. W naszej parafii to dzień szczególnie poświęcony Miłosierdziu Bożemu. Wszystkich parafian zapraszamy na Wystawienie Najświętszego Sakramentu i Koronkę do Miłosierdzia Bożego o godz. 15:00.
