4 EN 1. Transportation The air handling units are ready for transit and storage (1 Piture). The unit is paked to prevent damage of the external and internal parts of the unit, dust and moisture penetration. Corners of the air handling units are proteted against the damage protetive orners are used. The entire unit is wrapped up in protetive film. For transit or storage, units are mounted on timber pallets. The unit is fastened to the pallet with polypropylene paking tape over protetive orners Vertial and horizontal units ready for transit and storage 1 Piture When unit is loaded or unloaded by rane, argo rope is fastened in its designated plaes. If damage or delivery shortages are diso vered, the arrier should be immediately informed. MLV should be notified within three days of reeipt, with a written onfirmation sent within seven days. 5 2. rief esription of the Unit Casings of air handling units are made of galvanized steel sheets, whih are powder painted. Mineral wool is used for thermal insulation and sound attenuation. Unit over panels are 5 mm thik. The air handling units are intended for ventilation of medium-sized spaes (eg. single family houses, offies, et.), having operating ambient temperature and relative humidity. s standard, the unit is designed for indoor plaement. The operating temperature range for the unit is C C, outdoor air temperature. The air handling unit is not to be used to transport solid partiles, even not in areas where there is a risk of explosive gases. REGO is equipped with a rotary heat exhanger, RECU - with plate heat exhanger, whih may be replaed with summer assette, when reuperation is needless, air filters, an eletri or water heater, fans and automation ontrol system, to ensure safe and effiient operation of the unit. efore you open the door, the unit must be swithed off and the fans must have been given time to stop (up to 3 minutes). The unit ontains heating elements that must not be touhed when they are hot. To maintain a good indoor limate, omply with regulations and, to avoid ondensation damage, the unit must never be stopped apart from during servie/maintenane or in onnetion with an aident. If the unit is plaed in spaes with high humidity, ondensation might our on the surfae of the unit when outdoor temperatures are very low. Under onditions, when the outdoor air temperature is low and humidity is high, risk of heat exhanger frosting may appear. For this reason anti-frost protetion funtion is foreseen in the ontroller of the Komfovent air handling units. epending on the type of the reovery, different methods of anti-frost protetion are available: old air by-passing, or / and supply air fan speed reduing. For extremely low outdoor air temperature the dut mounted preheater is reommended. Counter ross flow heat exhanger is the mostly sensitive for low outside air temperatures, as the risk of frosting appears in the temperature range from 0 to -5 0 C and below. Standard aluminium ross-flow plate heat exhanger has better features, as the risk of freezing appears only at C. Installation 3. 1 Maintenane spae requirements It is reommended to install the air handling unit in a separate room or in the atti on a hard smooth surfae insulated with a rubber mat. The plae for the unit should be seleted with allowane for minimum aess to the unit for maintenane and servie inspetion. The minimum free spae in front of the ontrol panel should be not less than 700 mm. The free spae over the top of the unit should be at least 300 mm (3.1.1 a, b Piture). Separate setions are easy to install on site. Ensure that setions or setion assemblies are positioned in their proper sequene and that the unit handing and referene is orret. Setions should be aurately aligned prior to bolting together using the fixings and gaskets provided. The sealing gasket and fastening parts are available with every air handling unit. Inorret installation will result in air leakage, air blow marks to the unit asings and unaeptable noise. Setion onnetion sheme is shown in 3.2 Piture. 3.2 Piture 3.3 Heating oil onnetion* Pipe work should be onneted in aordane with good engineering pratie. ll pipe work must be adequatelysupported to ensure that no additional load is stressing the unit. 10 EN The pipe work should be done in order to ensure the spae for maintenane and servie work. When arrying out the installation of heater pipes, make sure that hot water supply is ompletely disonneted. efore start-up of the air handling unit, the heater system should be filled in with water. Glyol is used in the air handling units with oil heat exhanger. Never pour glyol down a drain; ollet it in a reeptale and leave it at a reyling entre or the like. Glyol is highly dangerous to onsume and an ause fatal poisoning or damage the kidneys. Contat a dotor! void breathing glyol vapour in onfined spaes. If you get glyol in your eyes, fush them thoroughly with water (for about 5 minutes). *If water heater build in. When operating air handling unit in the temperatures lower than 0 C, it is neessary to use glyol additionally or assure the reversible heating agent temperature more than 25 C. It is important to maintain air heaters and oolers leanliness; that is to hange filters installed in the air handling unit on time. If the air heater or ooler gets dirty, to perform periodial leaning. utwork The air flows in/out air handling unit through dutwork. We reommend using galvanized steel (Zn 275 gr/m 2 ) dutwork, to ensure easy leaning and durability. It is neessary to use the dutwork system with low air flow rate and small pressure drop to have neessary air volume and low sound level and save the energy. The appropriate sound attenuators will redue the noise level of the fans in the premises. ll dutwork should be insulated with mm thikness insulation to avoid the ondensation. Note: temperature sensor 1 has to be mounted in the supply air dut under eletri heater (see the funtional diagram in Control System Eletrial Installation and Operation Manual). It is neessary to leave spae in straight air dut for sensor mounting and guarantee the spae for maintenane and servie work. Minimal spae between the unit and 1 sensor is the spae of double air dut diameter. utwork, steelwork and any other servies should not be supported off the unit. In dut system, for units with eletri air heater, use air losing damper without spring return mehanism. Final Inspetion fter installation of the unit, a thorough inspetion should be arried out. This should inlude inspeting the inside of the unit and removing debris and tools, whih may have been left behind by on site ontrators. Replae any panels, whih may have been removed and lose all aess doors, ensuring that the door sealing gaskets have not been damaged.. Maintenane It is reommended to arry out routine maintenane of the air handling unit REGO/RECU/OTK, 3 times per year. REGO 1200P use the key to open the door. o not release the door to swing freely, but open it slowly at a 90 degree angle. e areful while opening, beause logged filters might fall out. esides preventive maintenane inspetion, the following operations should be performed: 1. Rotary heat exhanger hek. Inspetion of the rotary heat exhanger is performed one per year. Free rotation of the rotary heat exhanger, ontinuity of the rotating belt, absene of damages of the rotor drums and the seal gasket are heked. It is neessary to hek the streth of belt. Free belt will slide and the effiieny of rotary heat exhanger will fall down. To reah maximal effiieny, rotor must turn at least 8 times per minute. Polluted heat exhanger will derease effiieny. Clean heat exhanger with an air blast or wash with tepid water. Chek out water falling on the eletri motor. 2. Plate heat exhanger hek. Inspetion and dedusting of the plate heat exhanger is performed one per year (it is removed from the unit and blown with an air blast or washed with tepid water). Note: plate heat exhanger may be replaed with summer assette, when reuperation is needless. 3. Fans hek (one per year). Polluted fans derease effiieny. efore performing any inspetion work, hek whether the unit is swithed off from the eletri power supply. 10 U MLV we reserve the right to make hanges without prior notie.
11 Fans should be arefully leaned with textile or soft brush. o not use water. o not break balane. Chek if diretion of fan turns is right, beause wrong diretion of turns gives only 30% rating. Chek if fan freely rotates and is not mehanially damaged, if impeller does not touh sution nozzles, fan does not spread noise, the pressure tubes are onneted to the nozzle (if it is required), mounting bolts are srewed. The rubber ouplings onneting the motor base and the unit should be visually inspeted for signs of wear and replaed as neessary. ny unusual noise or vibration when the fan is running should be immediately investigated, as this usually an indiation of wear or imbalane in the fan system.. ir heater hek. Reommended to perform periodial inspetion and leaning of heater. Chek the plates of water air heater. The air heater is leaned with hoover from supply air side or with air blast from exhaust air side. If it is very dirty, wash with tepid water, whih will not make orrosion of aluminium. Chek if position of return water temperature sensor is right. Chek if eletri air heater is properly fixed, wires onnetions are not damaged and heating elements are not bent. They an be damaged or bent due to uneven heat or uneven and turbulent air diretion. Chek if eletri air heater is lear of unneessary things and heating elements are not logged, beause this an ause unpleasant smell or in the worst ase dust an start burning. Heating elements an be leaned with hoover or wet textile. 5. ir damper hek (if it is required). Not fully opened outside air damper rises up the pressure in the system. Water air heater an freeze if outside air damper does not fully lose in not working air handling unit. Mounting and running of air damper should be heked and regulated. 6. ir filter logging hek. Change air filters when air filter logging is indiated. We reommend to hange filters at least twie per year: before and after heating season, or more*. Filters are one time used. We do not reommend leaning them. Stop the air handling unit before hanging filters. Pressure sensor Piture 7. Pressure sensor setting, whih indiates impurity of filters. Pressure sensor is set aording to EN 13779:2007 standard: 100 Pa for small systems, 150 Pa for big systems. Remove over from the pressure sensor and turn the ursor due to proper position. The indiator will turn on when filters will be logged. One of pressure sensors shown in Piture an be mounted in the air handling unit. Close the door after pressure sensor regulating proess. e sure that sensor does not indiate impurity of lear filters. Pressure sensors in the air handling units up to size 900 are regulated and set in fatory. * Clogged filters unbalane ventilation system, air handling unit uses more power. Eletri Power Supply Connetion If the air handling unit voltage is ~230V; 50 Hz it is neessary to install the soket with grounding of orresponding apaity (see eletri diagram unit). 21 6.. Temperature Sensors Installation Supply air temperature sensor 1 (6. a Piture) is mounted in the air dut in a projeted plae for it; after eletri heater or ooler setion (if provided). The minimal distane from the air vent of the unit up to the sensor should be not less than double diameter of the irular onnetion or a diagonal of retangular onnetion. Water temperature sensor 5 (6. b Piture) is mounted on the return water pipe by srewing it into the provided hole. It is reommended that the sensor would be thermo insulated! Control panel must be installed in the room under given following onditions: 1.1. ambient temperature range 0 0 C C; 1.2. relative humidity limits 20% 80%; 1.3. protetion must be ensured from aidentally vertially falling water drops (IP X2). 2. Installation height must be not less than 0,6 m from the ground. 3. Control panel onnetion is projeted through the hole in its bakside.. Control panel is fixed after srewing two holes on the fastening surfae. Control panel is onneted to the onnetion box terminals (see 6.3 a Piture) to the provided terminals (6.3 b Piture). 22 EN 7. Operation manual 7.1. Unit Control ir handling units ontrol system ensures ontrol of the physial proesses that are taking plae inside the air handling unit. Control system onsists of: ontroller board; fuses, power and intermediate ontrol boards, whih are installed inside the unit; ontrol panel, whih an be installed in the onvenient plae for the user; air damper atuators; pressure and temperature sensors. Control panel (7.1 Piture) is designed for remote air handling unit ontrol, setting and display of ontroller parameters. Control panel LC display with baklight allows monitoring various parameters and text messages. Controller light signals indiate unit operation modes and failures. ir temperature, ventilation intensity, operation modes and other parameters are set by the touh sensitive buttons. There is possibility to swith ventilation level quikly from start-up window (7.3 Piture). Note: If automati operating mode is seleted, there is a symbol in the start-up window. 2. ir volume ontrol setting Supply and exhaust air volumes ontrol modes have been projeted in the unit: Constant air volume (CV) ontrol mode - unit supplies and exhausts onstant air volume preset by the user, independent of the proessing hanges in the ventilation system; Variable air volume (VV) ontrol mode - unit supplies and exhausts air volume orrespondingly to the ventilation requirements in different premises. In ase of frequently hanging ventilation demands this air volumes maintenane mode signally redues unit exploitation osts. Menu window for air volume ontrol setting is provided only in the units having air flow maintenane funtion. Only with EC fans. If air handling unit is provided with variable air volume ontrol funtion, primary ontrol mode alibration (look further) is essential, otherwise after hoosing VV mode unit will not operate. Variable air volume ontrol mode alibration: 1. efore ativating the devie you should adjust air distribution and exhaust devies in ventilation system, open all valves for variable air flow in a way enabling air supply to all ventilated premises. 2. Swith on the unit and by hoosing menu window for air volume ontrol setting (see above) atuate onstant air volume maintenane mode. 3. fter hoosing the CV mode and being at the same menu window touh both and buttons at the same moment. fter this, alibration will start for 3 minutes and during this time unit will start working on maximum ventilation intensity and there will be displayed Wait... on the ontrol panel. uring alibration proess all buttons are inative, exept whih allows to shut down the unit and stop the alibration.. fter finishing the alibration proess, air handling unit further will operate in the previously settled mode. 2 U MLV we reserve the right to make hanges without prior notie.
25 3. Setting ventilation level Three ventilation levels have been projeted in the unit: 1, 2 and 3. Eah of these levels may be set for manual or automati operation mode. To set ventilation level in manual mode, selet menu window: Note: In the air handling units provided with the air flow maintenane funtion for eah of three ventilation intensity levels maintained air flow an be adjusted and set separately for supply and exhaust air. It an be set from 20 up to 120% by 1% steps. ir handling unit is designed and alulated to operate on maximum 100% intensity with exeptions when intensity might be set more than 100%.. Exhaust air flow orretion Set air flow intensity (or maintained air volume) for 1-99 minutes period an be orreted from -50% till +50% from set value. Example: after reduing exhaust air flow intensity, for some time overpressure will be aused (sometimes needed to start the fireplae or suh). On - orretion funtion on. Off - funtion off. Note: fter this funtion has been ativated unit will work for the set time period with present exhaust orretion. fter time period is over this funtion turns off automatially. This funtion is not provided in the units with C fans. 5. Setting temperature maintenane mode Several temperature maintenane options are provided in the air handling unit: supply air maintenane, room (exhaust) air maintenane, automati. fter seleting uto, when ooling is needed, unit will work in the room temperature maintenane mode. If the outside temperature will be few degrees lower than set value, ontrol automatially will swith to supply air maintenane mode. 6. Setting temperature value ir handling unit maintains preset temperature by the user: supply air or room, depending on whih ontrol has been seleted (see temperature ontrol mode setting). Note: If before that supply air temperature maintenane mode was set, in the start-up and temperature value setting window symbol is indiated; if room temperature maintenane Setpoint sliding The setpoint an be shifted from -9 to +9 0 C from the temperature set value at speified by user time period. Off - funtion off. fter funtion is ativated, the type of sensor, whih is onneted to the unit, is seleted: VOC1 (Volatile Organi Compound) air quality sensor having signal-dependent linear relationship, the maximum value of output signal orresponds to the highest air quality. VOC2 air quality sensor having inverse relationship, the maximum value of output signal orresponds to lowest air quality. RH relative humidity sensor. CO 2 arbon dioxide sensor. epending on the sensor type, the value of Q funtion is set, aording to it the intensity of the unit is regulated. If atual air quality value varies from the setpoint then ventilation intensity will inrease otherwise derease. For instane, if the humidity maintaining system is designed in the devie, and there is additional relative humidity (RH) sensor, then by setting 65% in the air quality window, and by regulating the intensity of ventilation automatially, humidity of 65% will be maintained, i.e. if humidity inreases, ventilation intensity will be inreased as well, and if humidity redues, the devie will swith bak to the previous mode. This funtion is not provided in the units with C fans. 9. Season setting For the air handling unit operating in most eonomial mode, summer and winter seasons have been provided. y setting Winter season, unit ooling funtion is bloked. y setting Summer season, unit heating funtion is bloked. y setting uto, automati season seletion will take plae. epending on the heating and ooling demand, the season is seleted automatially. To set season selet menu window: Note: If air temperature during summer season is insuffiient, air handling unit an be preset and for Winter season mode, its energy expenditures will be minimal. 10. ay and time setting For the unit proper operation in automati mode aording to preset weekly shedule the day of the week and time should be set: ays notation: Mo Monday Tu Tuesday We Wednesday Th Thursday Fr Friday Sa Saturday Su Sunday 11. Weekly shedule setting Two ways for weekly shedule setting have been projeted: 1-5/6,7 - simplified shedule setting option: one shedule for all work days and the other for weekend operation; weekly shedule setting option: different operation shedule for eah day. When the event of the day is seleted, event start and end time is set and ventilation intensity level (0, 1, 2, 3) is assigned. efore seleting work days and weekend operation mode shedule 1-5/6,7 menu window is introdued: fter event (N1, N2, N3) is seleted for work days 1-5, eah event start and end time and ventilation intensity is set the same way. The same way three unit operating events are set for the weekend: Note: Every event start and end time is set from 0:00 to 23:59 h. For instane: Monday: N1 from 00:00 to 07:00 2 ventilation level N2 from 10:00 to 20:00 1 ventilation level N3 from 20:00 to 23:59 3 ventilation level 12. Language setting Language seletion menu has been projeted on the ontrol panel. To set language the last menu window should be seleted: 13. Menu loking The PIN ode is provided to lok entering to the parameters setting menu. If the menu is loked, only main parameters an be reviewed also the unit may be swithed on or off. To enter the PIN ode, touh + and hold for seonds till orresponding window appears: To enter the PIN ode follow these steps: 1. Touh or to enter the first digit. 2. Touh to go to the seond digit. 3. Repeat the steps above to enter the seond and the third digits.. fter third digit is entered touh to onfirm the ode. 5. Touh and and hold for seonds to save the ode into ontroller memory. The menu an be unloked only with the PIN ode. If the ode is forgotten, ontat loal servie team Other Control Funtions 1. Remote unit ontrol Unit is provided with remote ontrol possibility using external devie (button, timer, other sensor), whih is onneted to the ontats 17, 18 (see hapter 6.3 Piture) or 27, 28 (see hapter 6.3 d Piture). This funtion an perform one of two operations: remote unit swithing on and off; remote unit intensity ontrol (additional ordered funtion). Remote unit swithing on or off If the unit is not operating aording to programmed week shedule, by onneting (short-iruit) ontats 17, 18 (see hapter 6.3 Piture) or 27, 28 (see hapter 6.3 d Piture) unit will be swithed on and will operate with the intensity set in the menu window Ventilation (see page 23); by disonneting ontats unit operation will return to previous mode. If unit is operating in auto mode with hosen intensity, to swith it off by remote swith ontats 17, 18 (see hapter 6.3 Piture) or 27, 28 (see hapter 6.3 d Piture) must be onneted (short-iruit). Remote unit swithing on and off is available only when auto mode is set! 1.2. Remote unit intensity ontrol (OVR)* If this funtion is ordered in advane, unit intensity will be ontrolled by ontats mentioned above. If ontats 17, 18 (see hapter 6.3 Piture) or 27, 28 (see hapter 6.3 d Piture), are interonneted, the fourth level of intensity will be ativated, after disonneting unit will return to previous mode. djusting intensity of the fourth level for supply and exhaust fans is performed in the Ventilation window, only when this funtion is ativated, i.e. when these ontats are short-iruited. Remote unit intensity ontrol has the highest priority and operates in every mode, even the unit is swithed off. Note: This funtion is provided only for the units with EC fans. 2. Ventilation orretion in the winter In wintertime, when heating power is not enough and supply air temperature is below setting value, ventilation intensity automatially is dereasing in one level. If there is not enough, one more level (up to minimum) till set supply air temperature will be maintained. 3. Pump ontrol Units with water heater are designed with water irulation pump ontrol. In winter pump operates ontinually, in summer season it is off. When outdoor temperature is lower than 5 0 C, pump is automatially turned on. Pump is onneted to the onnetion box ontats (see 6.3. hapter).. Cooling energy reovery In summer when room temperature is lower than temperature outside, units with either plate heat exhanger or rotary heat exhanger automatially operate with ativated funtion of ooling energy reovery. This funtion is not provided for OTK units 5. Remote unit operation and failure indiation If the information about unit operation mode is requested (when unit is operating and when is not) indiation devie (for ex. bulb) must be onneted to the ontats 33, 35 (see hapter 6.3 Piture). In the onnetion board (see hapter 6.3.) are provided ontats 33, 3 (see hapter 6.3 Piture) or 29, 30 (see hapter 6.3 d Piture), whih are intended for onnetion of unit s emergeny stop indiating devie. 6. Summer night ooling* If the room temperature (exhaust air) in summertime is 5 0 C higher than the setpoint and outside temperature is between 12 0 C and the setpoint, the ventilation level is automatially swithed to the third intensity level at 00:15 am. The unit will operate in the third intensity level until 06:00 am or when outside air ools down (warms up) too muh or the room temperature equals the setpoint. The air is being ooled only by fans, without heat or oolness reovery and additional air heating or ooling. When funtion is swithed off the unit ontinues operating in the previuos mode. Funtion starts operating automatially if only the unit operates in the first or seond ventilation intensity level. Funtion stops operating, when the ventilation intensity level is being hanged. * - additional ordered funtion Unit PC ontrol This is additionally ordered funtion and for it implementation speial network module Ping2 is provided. Connetion diagrams and installation requirements of network module are given in the Ping2 module installation manual. fter onneting units through speial network modules to omputer network or Internet and given an IP address, integrated web server allows the operator from his omputer not only to monitor, but also to ontrol air handling units operation: to turn on/off, hange ventilation intensity and et.
